Why doesnt my food taste as good as Hipp????
« on: August 16, 2006, 20:40:31 pm »
Hello! Anyone else with a food critic as a baby? I have just had a 2 month long stint travelling with my baby (family visting...) so had lilttle or no chance to make my own food. The times that I did try, he refused it! Im not surprised actually- it tastes of nothing at all. When I taste the Hipp stuff ,which he loves, it tastes good! What do they do to it? It doesnt say there is any added salt.....Any tips on making the puree more tastey? much appreciated from a frustrated Delia.x

Good question! But I think so....I tried fresh grown veges from my inlaws garden........the carrot puree worked and so does avocado mixed with a little bit of cereal, but i was thinking about the protein combos Hipp make- like chicken and vege mixed. I tried it and he didnt like it (boo hoo!) Will his palate become less discriminatory as he gets used to it maybe? Thanks for answering and asking.x

how old is he? maybe its the texture, lo's dont like a lot of texture

also, maybe if he has a favorite taste you could mix things into that... I've heard of babies eating chicken and banana puree

Top Tips! Thank you so much. I shall try all of them. As my lo is a fruit bat in human disguise I THINK I may find a winner in combining stuff.

What about adding some of your food to the Hipp? Then gradually increase the amount of your food.

Hipp uses a lot of herbs... Try fresh basil and stuff like that. And they also add quite a bit of water for getting the right consistency... And for instance, if they make pasta and tomato sauce there is no that much pasta but a lot of sauce, that will add to the taste...
