When does shhh/pat become a prop?
« on: August 27, 2006, 13:58:33 pm »
Hi,
My LO needs to be sh/patted to sleep for naps and bedtime 90% of the time.  Sometimes I can lay her down and she will go right to sleep but other times it takes 5-30 minutes of shhhh/pat to get her to settle and sleep.  I suppose it is all a matter of my own timing, but do you think that shhh/pat is a prop for her to fall asleep?  I am a little confused!
Thanks!

Hi,

I think I had the same problem with my daughter.  It's like I got the PU/PD working and I hardly ever had to use it, but we couldn't get past the shh/pat.  She seldom went to sleep if I wasn't there with her.  I just got help on the forum and things are really coming together.  I'm sure there are people here who can help you as they helped me.  Here is my thread:  https://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=69916.0
