help with the basics
« on: August 29, 2006, 16:54:45 pm »
Hi,

I have twin boys who will be six months old next week.  We are just starting solids now and I could use some help in figuring out how much to feed and when.  They currently take between 5 and 7 ounces of formula at 7am, 11am, 3pm, and 7pm, with bedtime at 7:30pm (we are working to phase out their 10:30pm dreamfeed, but they currently take another 5 ounces at that time).  Am I right to assume that we will start with offering them rice cereal at about 8am and then add a second feeding of solids around noon?  Or is it better to put the second solid feeding in the evening?  And how do you know how much of the solid to offer them?  And how do you determine the amount of formula to add to the rice cereal?

Thanks!
