11 week old and toddler too - how to get sleep routine
« on: September 19, 2006, 09:14:56 am »
Having been trying to implement EASY with my DD  since week 7 but am finding it really difficult to get the time to do the proper sleep routine with an 18 month old also at home with me. I find myself reverting to bouncing the baby hammock until she sleeps or all the other no-nos like holding her to sleep or nursing her to sleep because I can't take the 20-30 minutes that she needs to do the pat/shush. The hammock is in the lounge so that I can bounce it whilst keeping an eye on my touchy (and increasingly loud) DS.  If I leave the room for the necessary time, I know I'd have two in tears (and nearly 3 LOL)

She also suffers from reflux and has trouble being winded so often the 3 hour cycle has finished and its time to feed her again and she hasn't slept.

I'd really appreciate advice and suggestions on what other mums have found works since I'm at a loss to what to do next.

Tah,
Megan

hi megan,

might be worth it to have a look here for help with nap training the second child:

also, we have a board devoted to colic & reflux here:
https://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?board=13.0

finally, when you have times when it's time to eat again & she hasn't slept, feed her & then try & put her down fairly soon afterwards.  :)
