Should I ignore his sleep cues to stretch awake time?
« on: September 24, 2006, 14:38:27 pm »
My little guy is 4 months old and cannot stay awake for more than an hour. He yawns or rubs his eyes to tell me. I have decided to continue nursing him to sleep after much soul searching and advice from his doctor and lactation specialists. I know it's not BW,I have both books. My son is Touchy/Spirited and we had a horrible time the first 3 months with oversupply( hence why I don't want to refuse him the breast).

So basically we have ESA and forget the Y part 'cause of the 45 min.The good news is he does sleep a six hour stretch at night and has 2 feeds. Bath 7:30 /8, bedtime between 8 and 9. His first night feed between 2 and 3 , then next one around 5:30. He wakes around 6:30.

He has surprised me with a longer nap last week but never again. I've been going in early to try and help him transition but it's just not working!

The other strange thing he does is fuss in the middle of the night ,so I go in , pick him up and he goes right back to sleep! What is that?! Help!

He also HATES the car seat. Screams FOREVER. One time he screamed for 45 min. in traffic! It's like he won't let me leave the house either!

Please help!
