The Bfing Challenge was to mark the start of Nation Bfing Week for awareness. It's held every year at this time. Basically different cities that participate hold the challenge and have guest speakers, give out freebies, and you all bf at the same time (11am sharp), each city competes against each other to see who has the most moms bfing at one time. I basically went to hear the speakers and both my friend and I thought it was a fun idea. Dr Newman mostly spoke about the importance of bfing past 6 mths, as 5/6 bf in the hospital to start and only 1/6 bfs past 6 mths. He also spoke about the marketing that formula companies push and how they actually try to turn moms off bfing (this was extremely interesting!).
I goggled Dr Jack Newman and on one site saw a listing of places and dates that he will be speaking at but can't remember which site I saw it at! I did find one for you to look into, it's
newman@globalserve.net, you can post questions directly. One lady I met today was telling me that she had issues with bfing when she returned to work and she emailed him and got great advice and a quick response.
