period after 7 wks??

I have read many places that you should not have a period for a while if you are EBF. I have a 7 wk old DD and have been EBF the whole time, but last night I believe I started my period. I have not had any bleeding for the past 1 to 2 weeks. Is this normal??

well, I dont' know if it's normal, but I got mine at 6.5 weeks after #1 was born!

My LLL answer book says that ovulation/ fertility may return when intervals between feeds are more than 4 hours during the day or 6 hours at night. (p.422 3rd edition). It also says it's perfectly normal to be feeding more regularly than this and not supplementing and still have a period return within 3 months or have a young baby sleeping through and still wait until 12 months +. In other words there's a big range of normal!!
