? about length of sleep at night for 3-4 month old
« on: October 12, 2006, 19:16:05 pm »
they say that a 3-4 month old "could" be expected to sleep from 6-9 hours straight

i know all kids are different

but i'm confused

if my son eats at 7 and goes down at 7:30 and then eats again at 10 and goes down at 10:30

is the 6-8 hours that they are talking about from the 7:30 or from the 10:30 when he last ate??

my son eats lets say at 7, goes down at 7:30, has been sleeping through his 10 pm feed and going till 1 am, he eats at 1 and is back in bed by 1:30

he then sleeps till 5 am and usually does not want to go back to sleep after his 5 am feed

so from 7-5 is 10 hours. i'm I expecting too much for him to go back to bed after the 5 am feed for another hour or two??

he goes from 7-1 without eating but thats only 4 hours.

sometimes he'll go longer to 3-4 but sometimes not

i don't mind waking up, not the issue. but being up at 5 am is getting hard. especially since I can't fall asleep at 7:30 when he does. you know??

This is more of a sleep issues topic rather than a Bottle feeding issue, I'd suggest going to the sleep issues forum for support.
There is a support thread for mommies who are going through early wake-ups and may be able to help you.
