Ben, at 10 months, is taking 4 bottles a day and a total of 24 - 26 (US) ounces of formula per day, in addition to three solid meals, and a snack, if req'd. Now, he's a big boy, so he's always had a big appetite... when we started solids he was taking 32 ounces/day.

Ben's paed said he should gradually reduce his formula intake from the time we started solid food (~6 months) until 12 months, at which point she said he should be taking 20-24 ounces. Then I guess we can think about replacing that formula with homo milk.

Anyway, I'm just curious how much formula your little ones are taking. Not really trying to compare, just being nosy. ;)

DS was taking 8oz of formula right before bed at 1 year old.  The rest of the time it was milk in a sippy/straw cup.

At 1 year or DS was on 2 bottles of milk a day - 2 x 9oz bottles - 1 in the morning and 1 before bed.

He would also have milk in his cereal and we would also offer yogurts throughout the day to increase his intake.

Natasha-Ds drink much more than this each day, however it does not seem to effect his eating.  Is this a problem?  Too much milk?  He also eats cheese and yogurt.

Curious on other responses. DS is almost 1yr and it is good to hear where others are at this age. We are still on 3 bottles a day 7-8oz each plus 3 solid meals.

At 1 year DS Was 10oz breakfast bottle and 14oz bedtime bottle.

I have since cut the morning milk to 7oz and he drinks it himself in a sippy or his bottle with a sipp spout.
The bedtime milk is still a biggy!!

Judy that is fine 16ozs is the minimum and if they are taking more and it isn't interferring with their food intake fine. My DD has 9ozs in the morning and 7ozs at night.
