When does solids come before bottle?

At what age should you give solids before the bottle?  I know that majority of their nutrition should be from milk/formula, but I keep reading posts of people saying that they are about to change to giving solids first.  Is there a certain age or are their signs/cues to look for in your Lo?

In Australia they recommended changing around 9months so babies start to realise that food will slowly be the most important part of their diet. However some babies still into toddlerhood have milk first thing in the morning and before bed. We did the change over at about 9months but just over the last month or so my DD wants her milk first thing in the morning. Just remember as long as milk intake doesn't drop then you do what suits you and your baby.

We switched over from bottle first to solids first when my lo began increasing his liquid oz and decreasing his solid oz.  We also talked to his ped. before doing this.  He was a little young compared to most, almost 8 months, but now his solids oz are back up (7-11oz) and his liquid oz are back to normal (24oz+).  Also, we offer solids first at all means, including breakfast.

we switched just before 7 months b/c the doc said ethan wasn't gaining enough weight and prob filling up too much on breast milk and not enough on solids. i still do bf'ing first thing in the morning but the rest of the day is solids first. i usually wait about an hour after solids and then bf so he still takes a full feed.
