I'm back with a question and a bit of frustration.  Night sleep had improved SO much but now I feel we are experiencing MAJOR regression.  DS has woken up almost every hour so far tonight and last night he was up every half hour from 3am on.  I have not changed anything and PU/PD seems to work most of the time.  I wait until I am sure it is not a mantra cry before intervening.  I am still feeding 2x a night.  10pm DF and whenever he wakes up in the 2~3am time frame.  I can stick with this because I have seen the positive results but I would like to know how long regression usually lasts.

Another issue is Naps.  Even with the new 4 hr EASY schedule, DS will not nap longer than 40 min.  I have tried W2S as well as helping through the jolts.  Nothing seems to work to extend the sleep.  When he is up, he is wide awake with bright eyes and fights me like mad during PU/PD with serious screaming fits the second I put him back down.  This lasts for about 30 min before he goes back down for another 20-30 min.  Then our S time is over.  This is for both the AM and PM naps.  Maybe I should be asking this question on the Naps board...

Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Hi there, just wondering how long his awake time is before you put him down for naps?  For me, most of my problems are from not giving enough awake time.... too much is not good either though.

And when you put him down for naps, does he go down easy?  and when he wakes up....is he happy or crying?

Also, is there any possibility he could be teething?

Just trying to rule out possibilities....

Hi!  DS is awake for about 2 hrs, if not longer before he goes down for the nap.  During our wind down, he starts getting drowsy and falls asleep pretty easily once I put him in the crib.  About 30 min later, he wakes up fussing until I go into the room, but then smiles at me and appears happy.  His smiling stops once he realizes I'm trying to get him to go back to sleep!!

I know there is a fine balance between not enough awake time and too much...  This morning he was awake off and on from 4:30.  Finally at 6:30 he was wide awake and went down for his nap at 8:45.  He wasn't showing any sleepy cues before our wind down and wasn't fussy either.  But he went right to sleep after only a minute of protest.

I don't think he's teething yet.  I don't see any bulging gums and his drooling/fist chewing is the same as it has been the past two months.

Thanks!
