11 months 1wk - ready for one nap?
« on: December 19, 2006, 16:45:34 pm »
After a lot of work my son has been on a great sleep schedule for about 4 months. He sleeps 12 hours at night and would take two naps. Now, during the last week he seems to only want to take one nap a day. He is 11 months one week, could he be ready for one nap a day? He seems to want to take his morning nap much later and then wants a catnap at like 3:30 - which seems to be messing with him falling asleep at night. He was so consistent with these two naps so the fact that his all of a sudden wanting to stay up longer and longer in the morning is making me think he is ready for one nap, but I am not sure. Thoughts?

here is our working schedule
A - Wake up 7/7:30am
E - bottle and solids
S - nap - 2 and half hours after waking
A - play until lunch
E - 12pm bottle and solids
A - play until nap
S - nap #2 about 3 hours after waking from first - or sooner if sleepy
A - play until dinner
E - 5pm dinner, bottle and solids
A - quiet play until bedtime routine
6:30 bedtime routine, bath, read, bottle
S - alseep by 7pm
thanks! MIchelle

Thank you for your speedy response. I did try to do a 3 hour awake period today and he resisted his nap like crazy! Should I extend the A time even longer? Then I run into him sleeping during lunch.
