Napping help
« on: December 13, 2006, 16:41:16 pm »
Hi
I'm new to the site, and I'm not even sure if I am putting my question in the right section.  My lil man is 10 1/2 weeks old, and I started him on EASY about 3 weeks ago because he was not napping all day.  I could get him to sleep at night after about an hour of rocking.  EASY seemed to work great for a couple of weeks, now I am feeling lost again.  He seems to yawn all the time, so I know I have to be missing his cues somewhere along the lines.  When I eventually get him down he only sleeps 45 min at most.  Getting him to fall asleep is so sad, he is kicking  and screaming in my arms, and then he eventually gets sleepy and I lay him down.  Then he's back up, he can't be hungry???.  For a little while there I could lay him down at night and he would put himself to sleep, now we are back to the hour of screaming and rocking, picking up and putting down.  From reading different posts I see a lot of people have this issue too, any advice for me?

Hi, I am wondering if you could post a bit of a routine, ie. including what time bedtime is and wake-up time is usually, how long is he awake in the morning before trying for the first nap?

Hi
Thank you!  He is usually up a few minutes after 7.  He feeds then about an hour of play, then I rock for a little then lay him down.  This one is usually the easiest, but he typically will only nap for a half hour.  Then I try to wait a little bit and feed again, then shortened play time, then back to sleep.  At most I get 45 minutes out of him.  It feels like I am feeding every 2 hours to stay on EASY.  The rest of the naps are from him just passing out. Should I let him "cry it out" at all?  I also feel like he screams just as much when I pick him up, and sometimes he starts screaming the second I put him down.  At times also I was finding that I was laying him down when he was showing clear signs of being tired, he would be almost asleep, then two minutes later hes playing with his hands.  To end the day, he has been pretty consistantly eating by 8.  Some nights I would lay him down and he was going right to sleep, lately, like last night he cried on and off for an hour before falling asleep.
