Thanks guys! We'll go slow!
Natasha - how does it happen that the first year goes by so fast??? "The days are long but the years are short" are such a great way to describe this first year of Owen's life. Some of those days seemed to last a year, and yet it's all gone before you know it.
I learned yesterday that we still may need a cat nap in the PM. I could tell by 4:30 that he wasn't going to make it to 6, but I wanted to see what would happen. He fell asleep fine, but woke up 30 minutes later and took an hour to go back to sleep. Then, was up 2 hours later for THREE WHOLE HOURS! Ugh. Part of the problem was I accidentally fed him 1/2 slice of my DH's high fiber bread (3 g per serving), so he was super gassy.
I mean, the kid can't handle pears, how's he going to deal with all that fiber?
? Duh, mama!
Anyway, he ended up sleeping until 8 this am, so first nap was 11, and he's still down for the count at 2. I think tonight we'll make it to 6 or 6:30!
He's been really good at dropping/adjusting his naps up to now, but I was expecting the 2:1 transition to happen much later since he loves his sleep! But I could DEFINITELY get used to 2.75-3 hours in the PM all to myself! I work at home, so I'm being very productive!
