how long is too long between naps?

Hi there anyone,
My lo is 6 months old and i'm having the usual, general sleep/nap issues like the majority of us
just wanted to know what's the longest time between naps for him to stay awake at this age? He's starting nursery and it's not quiet for naps so i just wonder how this will effect nighttime sleep and thereafter. This afternoon he was awake from 1445- 1830.....and he's quite unsettled and restless just now. Am wondering whether this is having an impact?
Any ideas?
Thanks, Debbie x

Thankyou ladies for your replies.
Isabella&jasmine's mum - Our day varies depending on when he wakes to start the day but it's predictable in that his awake/A time is roughly 2 - 2/12 hours and naps can vary from 45mins if we're out and upto 2 hours if he's in his cot.

This sounds fine i wouldn't go past 3hrs awake time for this age. However in saying that my DD could handle 3.5hrs awake time before bed at this age but could onlt handle 2.5hrs before her morning nap.

Hi Natasha, what you say about your dd sounds very similiar to Fin. He can't cope with a long awake time in the morning but can be awake a good stretch towards night time. Last night was 4 hours from his nap when he woke at 1645 (dh let him sleep a bit too long) and he didn't go down to sleep until 2045 and we had a bit of a struggle. He wasn't crying just awake
