How many night feeds for 14 week old?
« on: January 19, 2007, 18:08:27 pm »
My Lo still wakes  2 times per night approx. 1-2am and 4-5am and then up for the day @ 7am. She goes to bed @ 7pm and has a dreamfeed around 10-10:30pm.  She is still on 3 hr EASY and take approx. 4 oz.  I have been feeding her both of the night waking and she takes 4 oz each time, so I assume that she is hungry.  Is she not getting enough during the day?  Any suggestions??

What's the rest of her routine? How much does she weight?

I don't think that it's unsual.

For us the dreamfeed never worked. It would just start the series of wake ups for the food every 3 hours. If we skipped the dreamfeed, he'd go 6-8 before waking up to eat. So, we didn't do it. We used to go to bed early and take advantage of the first long strech of sleep.

I think at 14 weeks that sounds very reasonable especially if lo settles easily after each feed. At that age, I had given up changing diapers during the night unless he really needed it, as sometimes the change would wake him up a bit.

I think she weighs about 12 lbs ~ she has her 4 mos appt in 2 weeks.  She settle pretty well after the first night feed, then I sometimes have a hard time settling her after she wakes for the second one @ 4-5am.  There was a few times where we forgot to do the dreamfeed and she slept till 1-2am, so I should try and go to bed early and take advantage of that long stretch.  I have a 2 year old, so the evening is my only "Y" time and sometimes I don't want to spend it sleeping!! :)
