23 month old screaming when she wakes up ??
« on: January 22, 2007, 01:06:44 am »
My DD is screaming hysterically when she wakes up from her naps.  We have always struggled with short naps, some days she naps 45 min, but most days it is 1 hr and 15 min.  She settles down when someone comes in the room, but she is soooooo crabby for about 30min to an hour after she wakes up.  I assume that her nap wasn't restful enough.  Is there anything I can do to extend it??

What is her routine.  Nap times, bed times etc.  Does she sleep well at night?

I agree she's probably hasn't had enough sleep. I always give DS quiet time and cuddles after nap to ease the transition, as I cannot manage to extend the nap instead

She does sleep well at night ~ She goes to bed @ 7:00pm and wakes up anywhere between 6:30am and 7:30am.  We don't hear a peep from her all night.  I usually put her down around 1:00pm for her nap, but lately she will talk, sing, jump and play in her crib for about 45 min before she settles down.  So I thought I would try 1:30pm instead, and she falls right asleep but wakes up screaming.  She is in a much better mood before the nap, than after ~ its wierd??
