Hi - I need some major advice.
My LO is 13 months old and we are currently about to make a transition from 2-1 naps. She wakes at 8 and has been taking a short morning nap for about 6 months now, and then a nice long afternoon nap. But then , after two illnesses and teething these last 2 months we've been dealing with some night wakings that we just can't seem to shake, so I think it's time to get rid of the morning nap.
Here's the problem.
When her morning nap is gone, I'm sure it's safe to say that her afternoon nap will have to be bumped up from 2:00 to 1:30-ish, right? (that would be a 5 1/2 hour A time). Our Church on Sundays is a 3-hour block that was 9-12, but changed to 11-2 at the new year. We are very faithful church goers, and have been bringing lo home for her naps whenever necessary. With the 9-12 old time, once her morning nap is gone, that would've been perfect, but now that it's moved to 11-2, one of us will have to sacrifice the last 1/2 hour to bring her home for a nap.
This is really upsetting my husband who is sick of the three-hour block being interrupted by naps for the last year. (as I said, we are pretty avid churchgoers). He wants us to "see" if she'll just handle having a late afternoon nap on Sundays.
Will this work? If we do this once a week, will she start struggling the other 6 days? Or, is there a way we can give her an AM nap on Sundays to push the PM nap back without it screwing up the rest of the week and nighttime?
Please help because hubby and I are having a bit of a "struggle" seeing eye-to-eye on this one.
