Well, it has been about a month since I have messed with his sleep schedule. The outcome....he goes to bed an hour later and wakes up at the same time. I guess I just have to face the fact that he is up between 4:45 and 5:15 am. I changed his naps to after lunch so he now naps from 12-2 (give or take a 1/2 hr in either direction). He now goes to bed at seven. I am hoping that once we have the time change this week, he may sleep later. Who knows? I may have to keep him up until 8pm to get any change or wait until the spring when he is tired from all the fresh air. I just figured I would post the 'progress' we have had on his early rising. Oh well
Looks like early bed for me

My son definately has his own internal clock! 4:30-4:45 am every morning. I have tried to change it but it never seems to work. I will write down his schedule and if anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.
4:30-4:45 - wakes up, usually lays there talking, playing his music soother and doesnt usually stand up until we come in
5:10-5:30 - we get him out, we will get him out earlier if he is crying (which never has) or if he is really making a lot of noise, like kicking the crib or something
5:30-milk
6:30-7-breakfast
9:30-snack
10-11:30 or 12-nap (sometimes if he is really tired he goes down at 9ish)
12-lunch
3-snack
4:30-5-dinner
6:00-bedtime
I have stretched his naps to 1:00, but that seemed to backfire and he would only sleep for 45 mins and be super cranky all day. I have also stretched his bedtime to 7:30 (the latest) and he still woke up early, more like 5 am though. So, there was a difference but not much at all. Plus, he would end up napping for a longer period of time the day after or two days after we streched his bedtime. Seems it caught up with him. Am I supposed to keep him up until 1 every day and 7:30 at night for a few weeks even thought he is very cranky? I have no idea. Also, I am hoping that once it is spring, and we are able to be outside this will change, but I am not expecting it seeing he has always woken up by 5 am since he was a baby. Is it possible that him in his crib awake in the morning for the extra time is hurting my efforts? Would he be more tired if i got up right when he gets up and start the day? I have had people say how great it is to be able to have time at night with my husband seeing he goes to bed so early, but I am in bed 8 usually and would rather have time as a family because my husband only sees him for a 1/2 hour at night and not be so tired every day. I hope someone has the answer Please help....
