Hi
We have been having similar problems with our son (7.5mths) due to dropping the catnap. I have put my son down as early as 5pm when naps have been short & inconsistent & particularly when he was waking early (like 4.30am!).
I think you would need to try it for a few days to "pay back" some of your daughters sleep debt - you seem pretty sure she is overtired and her behaviour does sound like she is overtired - the really manic/hyper mood was a strong indicator with our son.
A few super early nights helped a lot, he is started waking a bit later eg 5.30am or 6am, which makes it easier to get the day started on the right track.
It took us a while to get the A times right, as I didn't consistently stick to a plan & see it through for 4-5 days, chopping & changing unfortunately doesn't help as you don't know what works & what doesn't.
I went back to when my DS was sleeping well & added A time to that which was appropriate for his age & kept a close eye on his behaviour, so once we got close to the 3hr mark & a yawn or eye rub popped up then do a quick wind-down & put down. The morning nap was the first to come right for us.
A sleep expert which I found really helpful was Dr Marc Weissbluth, he has a lot of information about sleep for infants based on his own research & using some of his info plus BW techniques I am sure you can get back on track.
