Good Morning Everybody!
I am the proud mother of an almost 10 months old (will be 10 months next week) who, except for not being a good napper, is a great, happy, smiley, funny kid.
I think it's my third or fourth post in the Naps Forum cause DS was always a problem napper.
To keep things short, here is where we are right now: he takes 2 30 minutes naps a day. Too little, I know. More than this, I am returning to work in 2 weeks and since I can not get home in time to keep his usual bedtime, I am gradually changing it from 7 to 8 pm. We have been doing this for the last 10 days and right now he goes to bed at 7.30 but wakes up earlier and earlier. Before that he used to sleep 12+ hours at night, so I just went with the short naps. But now he is only getting like 10 hours of night sleep and 1 hour of day sleep which must be too little, right?
Before I post his routine, there are two more things I need to mention: he does not act fussy or cranky during the day, even with his extra short naps and he goes to sleep independently (no paci) with his lovey (a blanket).
OK, so here is the routine:
6.30 a.m. wake up
9.30 nap (30 mins and on very lucky days 1,25 hours)
10.00 wake up
1.30 pm nap
2 pm wake
7 bath
7.30 bedtime
I always try to squeeze in a third nap but am never successful at it. Also, playing with his A times does not make any difference. the interesting thing is the same A time (same length, activity type) sometimes results in a nap longer than 30 mins.
I am pretty desperate right now and do not know what to do
. I always thought by this age they should be able to nap longer with no problems.
Please help!
Monica
