lean meats/lowfat meats..ok for toddler?
« on: March 15, 2007, 16:16:52 pm »
I was just wondering if it is ok to feed 20 month old lean or low fat meats? Probably a dumb question but I figured I would ask. My husband and I usually will eat the healthier cuts of meat, but I am talking specifically low fat hotdogs, lite/low fat kielbasa etc. That is what we eat, and he does too. We actually had a real full fat hotdog the other day, and everyone got a stomach ache. I am wondering if it is because he is not used to greasy food like that. Is it ok that he eats the leaner and lowfat meats? I know he is supposed to get full fat milk and dairy which he does, but I didnt know if that applied to everything. Thanks

As long as he is getting full fat milk and dairy....I would think it was all right.  Just my opinion though.  Might want to check with your pediatrician.
