Hi there,
I wonder if anyone can help me.  I have used Tracys methods since my LO was 9 weeks old and managed to get her on a routine.   She goes to bed at 8pm every night and wakes at 8am.
For the past 3 nights, she will not settle when I put her down, I am still following the same routine, but as soon as I step out of the room she starts screaming.  We also have a bed in her room so I have been going in not saying anything and just laying on the bed until she falls asleep, but this is taking up to 2 and half hours, last night was the worst.
Any suggestions please, could it be something has scared her, if so how can I find out what it is.  Its funny cos myself and my partner are so used to having our evenings together, its a nightmare at the moment.
Please help

Sarah

Sarah, could you please post your lo's routine. Does she still take a nap? What time and how long? Can you think of anything that may have disturbed her routine? Has she mentioned about being scared? Has she watched something do you think, could you ask her if anything is hurting?

Hi there, she still has a nap of around 1 1/2 hours once a day although she didn't have this last night and slept no problem.
There are a couple of things I think might have scared her, we have a height chart on her bedroom door which is a snake and I think this might have scared her cos she was pointing at the door the other night (although she might have just wanted to come out of bedroom).  The other thing is we had the heating going off earlier and when it cools down it does make a noise, so again last night we changed it back to how it was before and of course she was fine.
If it happens again would you recommend WI/WO cos I read somewhere that if it is SA then this doesn't work.  What should I do if it is SA?
Thanks for your help

If its SA you would do GW. Here's a link to whoch method is best to chose

Maybe try asking her if anything hurts/what the matter is? Try not to use words like scared but if she is pointing maybe take the height chart to her to see what her reaction will be like (and that way you'll know if its that or not).

Thanks for replying.  She seems ok now fingers crossed but at least I know what to do if it happens again.
