Transitioning question for 3.5 hours
« on: March 14, 2007, 16:22:20 pm »
I have been observing my dd for a couple of days and noticed a few things, so i am wondering if she is ready to transition to a 3.5 EASY. She meets some of the criteria but not all of them.
1. She is eating less at the 3 hour mark
2. She is staying awake longer 1hrs30 to 1hrs 45

However she is not having erratic night wakings ( slept through until 6:30 am)
and her naps are not short (may be because i left her up until 1hrs 45 instead of putting her down at her regular time (falls asleep in 1 minute of so).

I have however come across a couple of problems. One she struggles to stay awake after her first wake up, still tired. Now that i think about it she was up at 6:30 and i tried to settle her until 7am which is her usual wake up time however it did not work (still kept her in her room and dark until 7am) then fed at 7 am took 4 and a half oz. Therefore if she was actually awake at 6:30 she did not go for her nap until 8am, i was thinking she was up at 7am, so she was up 1hour and 30 minutes ( is this right even though she was still in the dark, trying to settle). When i fed her at 10 am she only took 3 oz. The other question i have is that she was crying and fussing like she wanted a bottle but did not take much. Is this normal as she is used to eating right when she wakes or every 3 hours or is a little hungry and should i try to make her wait until 3.5 hours?  ??? Habit or not?

If she wakes again at 6:30 am should i start my day then to follow a 3.5 Easy so that it flows with her naps. Because i waited until 7 it messed up with her naps and she went for a nap at 8am awake at 9:30 am EAT at 10 am (to follow 3 hour easy) and then 11:15 am nap awake at 12:30pm therefore interferes as she should not eat until 1:30 if waiting 3.5 hours but this will be 1 hour after she wakes and will be going for a nap shortly after.

Oh i forgot she is 14 weeks today.

Hope this makes sense.
