13 month old waking earlier because of really leaky diaper

I'm curious if anyone else has had a similar problem with their LO of similar age. For the past week our 13 month old son has been waking earlier than normal (up to an hour earlier) presumably because his pyjama and sleeping bag are SOAKED. I've moved him up to the appropriate diaper size (Pampers Baby Dry) but that hasn't helped at all. He does sleep through the night and he's in bed by 7:30p.m. Has anyone have any suggestions?

You could try an even bigger diaper, just for night time. I used to put Noah in a size bigger at night that what he wore during the day when he had this problem. You might also want to try a different brand of diaper - I switched from huggies to pampers because the huggies just never seemed to fit him well and always leaked - but maybe huggies or another kind would be right for you lo?

Hi, I had the same problem sometime ago and yes... it was the size, I've always used huggies and tried pampers thinking that was the problem but no, it was the size so I went back to huggies and never had the same problem ever again.

My Ds went through this phase...now that he's older I've limited his fluid intake considerably after dinner time.
But someone mentioned "double diapering" just at night....

We've had the same problem with leaks. I've tried to move up to the next size for nighttime and that didn't work. Couldn't find any doublers, so I resorted to a diaper change just before I go to bed. I don't know what else to do either.

We had a similar problem a few months back and ended up switching to Huggies Overnights... they worked like a charm. After a couple months of using these, we had a very minor amount of leakage in the morning, so I switched to the next bigger size and haven't had a problem since. She was in size 3's when I first started using the Overnights, and I could only find that size at Babies R' Us or online. Now that she's in 4's I can buy them at Target. HTH

Hi ladies... thanks soo much for all your replies and your advice - I really appreciate it. I've put him into Huggies for tonight, just to see if it'll make a difference. My next move is to follow your advice and get him into the next size up, while cutting back a bit on how much he drinks during and after dinner.
I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks a bunch!!
