Do I stop cluster feeding from 8 wks?

Hi there

I was just wondering do I stop cluster feeding at night at 8 wks old and why? Im feeding my 7 wk old usually around 4 pm 6 ish 8 is then a dream feed at 10 to 11 pm.  If  stop the feed at 8 ish and leave him without a feed from 7 till his dream feed is he going to wake up more in the evening and why do we stop cluster feeding at 8 wks is it so they get use to sleeping from 7 ? please help  ???

Hi Neene,

If the cluster feeding is working for your lo, I would not stop it at this stage.  A lot of people continue to clusterfeed until they introduce solids.

If your lo is taking these feeds well, I would carry on with them - let him be the guide - if he starts refusing it, then you know it is time to stop.  You want to make sure that they are taking the majority of their calories during the day, as this will eventually start eliminating the night wakings.
