a few questions
« on: April 02, 2007, 17:55:41 pm »
Our babies are 5 1/2 months old now (3 1/2 adjusted age since they were preemies) and doing great, especially with EASY.  They take 3 naps a day and they range from an hour to two hours usually.

Is it normal for the morning nap to be the longest?  It seems like that is not the norm....?  But their morning nap IS the longest, so is that ok?

Today their morning nap was 2 1/2 hours!  I had to wake them for the next feeding.  I thought maybe they'd be so rested that they would have a longer awake time after the first nap, but that wasn't really the case.  It was just under 2 hours of awake time so now they are down for their second nap.  Should I expect it to be shorter, and also their 3rd nap too?

I'm just wondering if they can get TOO much nap time.  So far it's never happened.  They still sleep 7-7 at night (with a DF at 11:30) even with great naps all day.
Thanks,
Laney

hi laney,

morning naps do tend to be the best and longest (they are with my 17 w o ds) as they are an extenstion of night time sleep.

my lo's naps are progressively shorter and his A time grumpier throughout the day. if your lo's were sleeping too much during the day they would probably be up expecting to play at night so i think your ok
