To swaddle or not to swaddle that is the question!

Hi my lo is 8 wks old and has the juttery arm issue with sleeps, I swaddle him but he hates it , but if i dont he wakes early from naps as the jolts wake him, most times his arms come out anyway help any advice and when do they stop having juttery arms and have control etc??

my dd hated being swaddled so I never bothered with it. She had a major case of the jolts though and used to fling her arms and legs around and wake herself up after 45 minutes- you could set your watch by her!
I followed the advice on "holding through the jolts" exactly as detailed in the FAQs- here's the link to the thread for you:

It worked most of the time- sometimes there was just no keeping her asleep past 45 mins (but that's normal for many lo's).

thanks for the post il try it out.  Did your lo stop joltong around 3 months? nd is that when they can control their arms then?   cant wait for the magic 3 months seems to help with a lot of issues  ::)

No advice from me I'm afraid, but just had to say how cute your lo is in your avatar  :)  I just LOVE his expression.

Thanks, Hes  so nosey everytime i put anything in front of him he stares as if to say whats that! bless him  :) your photo is so cute to they are so lovable.

There's something called the Aussie swaddle which puts LOs hands closer to their face. I know they describe it on one of the boards. Also, how do you swaddle? Maybe there's another blanket/method that would be more soothing?
