Bumpers=playtime?
« on: April 05, 2007, 02:27:55 am »
So in less then 24 hours my son got his leg stuck in the bars in between the bars in his crib twice.  I decided it was time for bumpers.  so I went out and bought them and put them in.  ever since then it is like he thinks it is play time every time I put him in there to go to sleep.  last night it took him 1 hour to go to sleep.  He spent the time rolling round in his crib until he got stuck then cried for me and I went hin and picked him up and he was so tired by this time so I gave him his paci and left.  he went to sleep shortly after that.  it has been about 20 min or so of this same rolling around uuntil he went to sleep for his naps.  The only thing that has changed is me putting those bumpers in!  as anyone else experienced that or does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?  would play time in the crib help or just make it worse?

hi, I think you'll have to experiment with this one, play time in his crib might allow him to get 'bored' with the new 'toy'.  I'm guessing if you didn't do other things that normally mean bed-time (ie. closing curtains, singing songs etc) he won't get confused about bed and play time in his cot.  Hopefully he'll get used to the bumpers!

I watched what he did while rolling around in his crib tonight and I think it may bother him that he can't see out.  I went him when he sried and gave him his paci and pulled up one of the sides to see what he would do and he went right to sleep.  does anyone know about the mesh bumpers?  can you see through them??  I am thinking this may be a better option but I may have to do the play time thing too and just see what happens.  thanks for the response.
