Back breaking carrying 3mth old while she naps
« on: April 10, 2007, 03:27:01 am »
Hi,

My dd is just over 3 months old and sleeps really good at night, from 8.30pm to 8am.

The problem I have is that her naps are really bad; only 30mins when first put down and then wakes up every time I put her back down to sleep and will only sleep if carried.

I have tried starting her routine straight away after her yawn (after 45-60mins awake time) and have also tried waiting an extra 10-15mins but we still get 30mins of nap only. I started with pat/shh and it works getting her to sleep but she gets very agitated when I do pat/shh while trying to get her back to sleep again.

What am I doing wrong?
Cheers,

Catharine

I've been feeding her every 3-31/2 hours: 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm, 7.30pm ( just after her bath).
Cheers,

Catharine

Sorry is she falling asleep independently for her naps? Do you think it is the Shhing or Patting that upsets her? Perhaps you need to tweak that Shh/Patt some babies to get upset with it.
