Short Napper
« on: April 15, 2007, 13:35:03 pm »
Hi,
I hope you don't mind me asking for your help  :)  You wrote that your child was a short napper but now he takes longer naps - How did you get there?!?  My son (11 weeks old) and I have been on the EASY routine for about 2 weeks now.  He is really good at putting himself to sleep at night but during the day - forget it.  He is a Spirited Child and sleeps no longer than 30 minutes during the day. He wakes up so tired and I try to help him with going back to sleep but with no success.  I'm hoping you can give me some advice.  Here is our routine:

5:30 wake and feed (goes back to sleep until 8:00)
8:30 feed
9:00-9:30 Play
9:30 - 10:15 Sleep (wakes up fussy and tired - trying to help him get back to sleep)
11:30  feed
12:00 - 12:30 play
12:30 - 1:10  Nap  (naps in crib then starts crying - I try the pat and shush - doesn't work then I sit with him and he ends up falling asleep on me within 2 minutes)
1:30 - 1:45  Nap (back in his crib)
2:15  Feed
2:45 - 3:00 Play
3:00 - 3:30  Nap
3:30 - 5:30  Very grumpy
5:30  - feed
6:00 - 6:45  Play
7:00 - 7:30  Nap
7:30 - 8:00  very grumpy
8:30  feed
9:00 bath and bedtime routine

Pammy-I am going to pop this question over to the nap boards where you will find great advice.  Good Luck. Myia
