how to wean of wake to sleep
« on: April 24, 2007, 13:48:47 pm »

I am new here, and stumbled across these boards looking for a solution to my 45 min napper.  My LO is 12 weeks this friday, and I started the w2s last week.  It is working SO well!  I go in and nudge him 35 minutes into his nap, and then again in another 30 minutes.  He now takes 2 hour naps most of the time! He is still not sleeping through the night, but we have had a hard time b/c of reflux.

My question is how long do I need to be doing this before he can transition on his own?  Is there a way to slowly stop helping him transition between cycles?

I have found great advice on this board for our issue, and hope that women who have had success with w2s will respond!

Thank you!

You should be right to stop doing it now you only need to do it for 4-5days straight.

I have not had success with w2s but I am wanting to try.  My LO is 12 weeks also and always wakes up at 45 minutes.  I wanted to ask you when do you consider your LO to be asleep?  As soon as they close their eyes?  I'm sure it says somewhere but I can't find it.  Thanks for posting - it has inspired me to keep trying!
