wakings every night for 9.5month old
« on: May 16, 2007, 14:45:16 pm »
My little boy generally sleeps from 7pm to 6.15-6.30am (we have recently overcome over-tiredness & waking at 5.30am with the help of Layla). I feel we have the naps totally sorted ( 1 hour nap in morning/ 1.5-2 hour nap in afternoon) & generally he sleeps well. Our problem is that he still wakes in the early hours of the morning grizzling until I go in, turn him onto his back if he has rolled over, or find his teddy in the cot for him & then he goes straight back to sleep.

He generally does it any time between 3am-5.30am & normally about twice within this time, sometimes just once.

Does anyone know how we can overcome this so that he doesn't wake? I would love finally for both me & my little boy to have a FULL nights sleep after 9.5months!!

Many thanks
Jodie xx

What exactly do you mean by grizzling? If he's just fussing around I'd leave him be and let him sort himself out.

he cries really, but won't stop unless I go into him. Should I just leave him? I am just worried he will wake himself up more then.
Thanks

If he's doing a mantra cry or a fussy one, I'd leave him be until he really cries-cries for you. Chances are, he'll put himself back to sleep no problem!

Let me know how it goes! It's so annoying to listen to, I know... but if you interfere LO will quickly become dependent on you and independent sleep will be a thing of the past.
