GROBAG and BIG BED
« on: June 06, 2007, 17:12:24 pm »

Just out of interest here.....

when switching to a big bed, did you ditch the grobag (sleepsack) too?

or did you still put your lo in the grobag inside the big bed??

I got rid of the grobag a month or so before switching.

I've never heard of anyone leaving their dc in a grobag after moving to a big bed - it just isn't safe!

Just posting so I can find this. I was just starting to think the same. I almost need to buy the next size in grobag but wasnt sure if it was worth it or to keep using it.

On a side note, Kirsten can walk in hers  ::) so I guess if she got out the bed she would be ok LOL

i already know that my dd sleeps great with or without the sleep sack, but it is really nice just knowing that she is covered in the middle of the night.

she has climbed out a few times and walks a bit like frankenstein ;D.i just put her back a few times and she was fine.she is in the 18-36 month now and loves the baby in the pot motif ::).she is a wriggler so if it was just blankets she would freeze in the cold weather.
we have both the summer and winter, the halo looks good too :)....jenny

We moved ds to a big bed and kept him in his grobag for at least a month after that.  He was so attached to his 'bag' that we just decided it was easier to let him be happy in it  Around 22 months we let him just sleep with a duvet and no grobag.  :)  He's been in his big bed for about 10 months now and in all that time he's got out once :o :o :o  He's just so darned lazy he can't be bothered to get himself up - it's my job to get him up LOL.

Oh don't get me wrong - he's awake alright.  He just shouts for either me or DH to go get him up.

My DD turns 3 tomorrow. When we moved over here to Oz I brought a growbag (saves us buying a duvet) and DD loves sleeping in it and keeps asking for it. Her bed arrives this week so I am hoping to go back to the duvet. The funny thing is that DD has been in a ready bed for 2.5 months and I was going to make her cot/bed up as a bed but she is insistent that she wants it as a cot. Understandly due to the move and the dropping nap timing we have had a few night wakings. I think I am going to go cold turkey. Bed and duvet and just see how it goes but at 3 they also know what they want.
