Ok everyone, I haven't been ignoring all the advise, but what with my pc dying on me and trawling my way through the unread replies, I have only just gotten to this. ::)

So the nights are back to normal near enough, he has woken once every night, but that is cos he is soooooo hot from the weather. We are just still struggling with the getting him to sleep now. And what is worse, Roop puts him to bed still cos he just tries to play with me and then tears ensue and it is normally about 10pm before he finally goes but anyhoo, Roop had taken to putting him to bed later and later to get him to sleep quicker. I have objected and nag Roop in an evening to take him, but he keeps saying 'in a minute' so not sure what to do with that. But we are still battling not being able to leave him again. Groan, we will get there.

Thanks for all the advise, it has been greta.

Hi Faye,
we too are struggling with wake ups that are all over the place. It was ok here for a while, not posted since lo was 19 months but he got chicken pox 3 weeks ago and now all hell has let loose.
We too have no pattern for the waking, sometimes he just has a bit of water and sometimes he is awake for up to 2 hours, so you are not alone, and in a strange way these posts make me feel like ds is normal, cos i really worry at times that its not normal, but it is!!!
I agree with previous posts about gradual withdrawl as wi/wo makes ds livid.

Just a little update.

He's back to sleeping through and what is more, goes to sleep on his own again. We can just leave him and he is fine. Not even one tear ;D How great is that! Thanks everyone for your help :-*
