I'll try and make a long story shorter:
I went back to work teaching summer school (so part time) and we have some SA going on because of that. It's been a week now since I started work outside the home and sleep issues have started at the same time.
She's been having a tough time at bed time. Well, actually, not tough...that's the weird part. She would normally go to bed around 7ish - give or take. Now, everything else will be the same, but she just lays in bed with wide eyes for 20 min, then cries. We'd go in because she doesn't settle, and snuggle for a bit and back to bed only to be wide-eyed again. This has taken up to an hr, and as little as 20 min. So her bedtime ended up being anywhere from 7:30-8:45 today. Thismade her naps a bit off, etc. but no NW or EW so far.
I had thought that it was just SA (I know she isn't fussing, but she definately shows SA during the day, so...), and if I put her down earlier, by the time she's settled herself she'd be asleep closer to a more appropriate time.
Well, I did that for tonight and her bedtime was the lastest yet (8:45 as I just mentioned). She went to sleep in less than 5 min, so was asleep at 6:50, and woke at 7:20, but just layed there half asleep. Eventually she cried and wouldn't resettle, so it ended up being over an hr of in and out. If I'm able to leave the room, she'd lay alone for a while, then cry. But thats only after I've snuggled with her for a while...long while. If I try to give her brief assurance and then back to the crib, she'll wrap her arms around my neck holding on for dear life!
So I'm th inking it's SA and just hasn't caused NW or EW YET, or maybe her sleep needs have DRASTICALLY changed. She's now sleeping 10-11 hrs at night instead of 11-12 (average was 11.75) and napping anywhere from only 1.5 total for the day up to 2.5 on really good days.
Any ideas?? ??
