Cutting back on her length of nap :-(
« on: June 13, 2007, 04:09:21 am »
So 4 weeks ago i went back to work part time and my Mum was looking after DD. Around this time she also got a cold and it has just gone away now and i am no longer working it was only a temp job.
Since then she has cut her naps back to 1.5hrs even when she is at home with me.
Before that she would sleep average 2hrs with the occasional 2.5hrs never longer.
Is this just a phase will she go back to her normal 2hr nap? I really enjoy the break of 2hrs being pregnant  :-[
She sleeps 11/11.5hrs at night her routine is:

6.30/7am - Wake
12.15pm - Into her cot for nap
12.30pm - Asleep for 2hrs now 1.5hrs
7.30/45pm - Bed
8pm - Asleep.

I really don't see anything wrong with that at all :-\

Night looks a bit short, I am reading that she sometimes only gets 10.5 hrs if she wakes at 6:30?

How does she seem during the day though? Riley has dropped back a bit, but he seems fine on what he is getting.

Natasha, Isabella was about Catharine's age when she dropped to 1.5hrs. She's doing good with it. Occasionally (and this is very rare) she will do 2hrs again but 99% of the time its 1.5hrs. If your lo seems tired towards the end of the day, just put her to bed a little earlier.... but otherwise I would say thats pretty normal.

interesting, glad I saw this post...Natasha ur routine is very similar to ours. Except, T is being 'sleep trained so he falls asleep later and this seems to make him sleep later too so now he sleeps from 1sh to 3ish. have just posted about whether I should wake afetr 2 hrs!

Thanks guys Stacy i knew you would reply :P
Most times she is up at 7am when we have to get her up to take DH to work but a few days it has been close to 6.30am. Can't do any earlier bedtime as DH gets home 6.30pm we have dinner then bath for DD. Plus if we put her down earlier she takes longer to fall asleep. I really think it is teething and ilness related as this is what she has done in the past when cutting teeth only 3 more teeth to go.

Have you ever tried bath before dinner, does that work at all? Then you'd be able to put her down earlier.

Yes i have though about that but that is DD and DH time together he would hate that.
However in a few weeks DH will be able to come home earlier so we can get back on track and into bed a little earlier and sleep in a little longer in the morning.
