LOL, I know the feeling.
When Henry starts yawning at 1 hour, I usually take it he is bored with his current activity. I also 'ignore' him rubbing his eyes, as I know, if I put him down with less than 2+ hours A time, he will DEFINITELY only sleep 45 minutes, or perhaps 1 hour and then wake up super grumpy. Ironically your LO may need longer A times, but initially not be 100% ready for them, therefor you may need to do a longer low key wind-down, to extend to longer than 2 hours. What I do, I take H up to his room, and play with his soft toy with him, that goes into his cot with him, and then I read a book with him. sometimes I put him on his pillow for some tummy time too. And just play it by ear.
Some people suggest taking a walk in the garden for ten minutes, because it isn't as stimulating and then you win the time.
