Profile not updating correctly

I had chosen to have my email address hidden from the public, but it's available (and won't change) and now I'm getting spam.

Even if you choose to have it hidden (which I have done as well) the only person that can see it is you ;D

Thanks!  I assumed that because I could see it everyone else could too.  Now I'm really wondering where all that spam is coming from!

Why does it have an email icon on the left side of my post...which opens up to allow someone to email me???  How can I make this not available?

As Lana has mentioned, the only person who can see your email address is yourself, the forum software will not hide you email and thus the email icon from you.  Nobody else is able to view you email address.  The two icons that are present under your avatar are Profile and Personal Message icons.  The email icon is an envelope, that is only visible to you.  If you look under my profile you will see I have an email icon as my email is not hidden, if you check out Lana's post you will see she does not have an email icon as her email address is hidden.  Hope that clears it up for you, if you still have concerns please feel free to update here :)
