45 minute morning nap
« on: August 05, 2007, 13:16:17 pm »
My DS is 9 weeks old and up until 3 days ago his schedule looked like this:

7 am – Eat
7:20 – 8:15 – Activity
8:15 – 10 – Sleep

10 am – Eat
10:20 – 11:15 – Activity
11:15 – 1 – Sleep

1 pm – Eat
1:20 – 2:15 – Activity
2:15 – 4 – Sleep

4 pm – Eat
4:20 – 5:15 – Activity
5:15 – 6 – Cat Nap

6 pm – Eat
6:20 – 8:00 – Bath, massage, activity
8 pm – Sleep

For the last three days we have not been able to get him past 45 minutes for the morning nap.
Any attempts to sooth him fail.  By the end of it he is screaming and crying and we just settle him until 10am when we feed him.

Any suggestions?

Turns out this time he needed a burp.  I got him back down after he let a loud one out.  I have a VERY gassy baby.
I am on a soy and dairy free diet but he still gets gassy from time to time.

Hey there,

When long naps suddenly go to 45 minutes it can mean that A times need to extend. If you think that's the case I would go pretty slowly, 10 minutes or so at a time, becuase your lo is still so young. :)
