Almost One Year Old and Still Waking Up at Night
« on: September 17, 2007, 04:02:54 am »

For the past 18 nights we have been using the "Gradual" sleep training method on my daughter.  At three months old we used the 'cry it out method' (prescribed by her doctor) and she was sleeping through the night within day and did so for months, until she started really teething at 5-6 months.  Then she got sick and since then we have not had a good night sleep.  So, after the recent four teeth came in, we started the training all over again but using a gentler approach.  We've been great strides (goes down easy without any tears) but she tends to wake 2-4 times a night.  The times will vary and I can't figure out the pattern.  She seems to need our presence over her crib to fall back asleep.  Who out there has encountered this same situation?  How did you over come it?  And/or please share any technics you have for helping me assist/educate my daughter on how to fall asleep on her own without needing us.  Thanks in advance!!!

Hi & welcome to the boards :)

Can you tell me how she is sleeping during the day? When she wakes do you sit back with her until she is asleep? Are you moving the chair towards the door at all?
