teething and naps
« on: September 20, 2007, 18:26:08 pm »
My dd is 28 months and is cutting her second molars. One just came in and the other is cutting now.  This has all happened over the last week. Since then her naps have totally been effected. She has a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep, I gave her Tylenol the last few days and she falls asleep right away but wakes an hour later . She usually sleeps 1.5 or more hours. Now she is doing 45 min-1 hour and is still  tired due to the lack of nap time. she is sleeping at night due to Motrin help. (which is so much stronger) is this all normal for teething and will she go back to normal?

also she is tired and throwing more temper tantrums due to the discomfort and less sleep. I move her bedtime up, but she still falls asleep at 8ish no matter what.
 So frustrating......  ::)

This is pretty normal... short naps, messed up nights.... so I would try to ride it out with meds & offer her an earlier bedtime when she has a short nap. On days Isabella only naps for 45mins, I offer bedtime around 6pm (she sleeps until 6am). If its 1hr she usually falls asleep by 6.30pm.
