Crying out during nap

My little one has been doing something kinda weird lately.  She went down for her nap.  Winded down, fell asleep...I went in and pat/shushed one time.  She'll fell into a deep sleep.  Then she stirred a bit, fussed around in her swaddle, got an arm out.  Fall back asleep.  Then out of no where she cried (more like wailed) out for like 10 seconds and then fell asleep again??? 

She is almost 7 weeks old and weighs 9 lbs??  (She was born 3 weeks early and only 6 lbs)  Is this normal?  It scared the heck out of me today!  I ran in to see if she was okay!!  What could have made this happen?  Oh, she also sleeps on her side with a wedge??  Curious of your thoughts!!

My son does the same thing--and it unnerved me too the first time he did it.  I don't know scientifically the why behind it, but it just seems like it's another way for him to settle himself in.  He does it so often (that and crying a little when he settles in to sleep) that I hardly even notice it anymore.

Mine did it too when she first came home from the hospital and up until about 5 weeks or so.  It was so weird.  I think it's like they are getting energy out or something.  Mine never woke when she did it.  And it seemed to be in the middle of sleep.  Hmmm...there must be some explanation out there.  Who knows?

same here. mine's done this a couple of times. i would hear it on the monitor, go in and she was sound asleep who knows.
