Thank you new mum. I agree with you, she is too young. Two days ago we had no naps at all, yesterday one 1,5 hs nap starting at 2.30 pm. The main problem is that she is with her grandmothers until 3.30, when I came back from work. I'm trying to instruct them on what they should do, they agree with me but at the end they do something different! I don't know how to manage this situation, and really I'm not sure that's grandmother's fault, could have been the same with me!

So, today I had to separate my lo's (13 months, 11 adjusted) because my ds kept playing and gleefully singing while my dd cried because she wanted to sleep. After 15 minutes he is still singing in his bassinet in my bedroom. Yesteday he did the same, but did fall asleep for 30 min.

I want my dd to get her morning catnap if she still needs it, but it looks like ds might want to sleep one day, not the next. I am OK with separating them, but want to know what to do if ds won't sleep. I would like to keep my 30 min break! Any suggestions for how to handle this? :-\

It looks like we are also qualifying for this thread. DD suddenly increased her A time to 4 hours so a long AM nap and a PM catnap worked for about a week and a half and then she started the 40 min nap and wake happy so today she has 4.5 hours A time had a 1hr35 min nap and decided she didnt want the catnap after 4 hours this afternoon. Has anyone else found that their LO has increased their A times in big chunks in a very small amount of time? She is with dad having her stories now so hopefully will be asleep by 6.30pm (woke at 6.30am today) so I hope we are free from NWs and she doesn't wake early tomorrow.

Jmoran if Ds and DD are in different rooms and DS is happy to sing to himself in his cot then I suggest you just leave him to it and get your break, at least he is having some downtime  :)

Oh dear! DD was asleep by 6.20pm, out like a light as soon as she was in the cot! Where have her tired signs and OT cues gone  :-\ She cried out so many times last night while transitioning and I had to resettle her at 3am, classic OT  ::) Luckily she slept until 7am so I have put her down earlier today at 4hrs 20. She's been sleeping nearly an hour, if she sleeps until 1pm then I wont even try the catnap it will be early to bed whether she looks tired or not! I am determined not to be a stresshead about this switch (we'll see, lol!)

Good luck Skatty, you seem to have things sorted in your own head, which is half the battle, having a plan and then a back up plan to fall back on  :)

Hi everyone  ;)

As part of our current efforts to make the site and all its forums as accessible as possible we are now recommending that any thread which reaches 30 pages be refreshed by locking the existing thread and restarting it in a new thread. In this way we hope that way we hope that the threads will continue to be fluid and vibrant and support remains current and welcoming to newer members.
So, I would like to ask for your cooperation and support as I lock this thread and open you a new one for the support and advice that you give to be continued.

Here is the new link thread.
