I know that this isn't necessarily BW methodology, but I just thought I would share what I have found to help with my DD's nap time. she is 12 1/2 months old right now. she used to take two 1 1/2 hour naps during the day and then sleep for 11-12 hours at night. but for the last week or two, her naps have been odd (45 minutes or an hour) and she has been taking a long time to fall asleep.
so this morning, she woke up around 6:40 (not too unusual). instead of keeping her up until 9:30 or 10 like I usually do, I put her down at 8:30. and wa-lah! she is taking a longer nap again.
I have read before that keeping their first awake time the shortest will help them sleep better, because the first nap is a continuation of their night sleep (something about their REM cycle continuting). so I tried the shorter awake time today and she is sleeping well and it only took her a few minutes to fall asleep.
we'll see how the rest of today goes, but so far, I'm happy with the results!
