15months and sleeping with a bottel.... help please.
« on: December 16, 2007, 21:35:55 pm »
a few months a go i made the mistake of giving DS a bottel at nap time (the reason was because he would eat hardly any thing all day and i wanted to make sure he was getting something)  now the boy is a great eater but wont go to sleep with out his bottle.

if i take it away after he falls asleep he will wake up crying for it.. i have tryed to get him 2use a pasi but he never like them he just plays with it than throws it :)
also if he does wake up in the night and i have been up with him longer than 30 min i give in & give him a new bottle because this single mommy has to work and i need to sleep.

i know this is my fault for starting down this track and i know it is the easy way toput him to sleep but i know it is not good for him so i realy want to break this habbit.

if ya need his schedual :)
7am- wake
8am- eates at baby sitters
10am-noon- 1st nap
noon- lunch
2-4pm- nap
4pm- snack
5:30-pick up from baby sitters
6 or 6:30pm- dinner
bed time is between 7:30 and 9pm depending on whats going on or when he gets sleepy

i dont realy have much of a wind down because he is at the sitters all day and i know she cant do that. but at night we will sit on the love sack together watching a movie with his bottle for about 15-20 min b4 bed...

i would love a little advise
thanks  :-*

Hei there.
First why I think bottle is not such a good idea, as it could ruin his teeth.
I really think it will be one hard road.
But thats what I would do.
Read the book and bottle, then teethbrushing and then lots of cuddles and patience.Being with him and lying him back down, when he stand up and reassuring him its OK.An dI would try to keep bedtime about 7.30

I think at his age, when he is not used to paci already, he wont take it.

Hope this helps a bit
