DD is 6mos and unitl a nasty flu last week she would happily sit in chair, bounce in bouncer, play on mat for ages. Alas, no more, she's super whiny and clingy and goes mental when she cant see me. Dont know what to do feel like im hlodking her all day which I dont enjoy....

Bless her.

I guess the idea is to re-introduce her to ind play and to gradually rebuild her confidence. Couple of thoughts;

Play together on the floor reading books, singing, whatever you do.  Move away a bit, go to other side of room for a tiny while but continue talking to her.  Gradually extend the time you move away for.

Sit next to her whilst she is in her bouncy chair so that she gets used to being in it again.

Make sure she can hear your voice wherever you are.  Talking or singing to her so that she knows you are near.

Keep her near to you whilst you are doing other things.  Playing with wooden spoon on kitchen floor whilst you make dinner etc.

The trick for us was to do it in small small steps so she didn't freak out every time, which just worsens everything.

It WILL get better!  :-*

Hugs Michelle,

I totally agree with Nicola.  Also a thought, could she be going through a bit of seperation anxiety?
