Oooh, check this one out: Millpond
They're based in the UK but provide an international service. I suspect it might be a lot quicker route than trying to get a consultation in a clinic and I'm willing to bet that they'll be able to support you in a way that is not CC/CIO.

Nap today sounds really good!! Is that extended with WI/WO? If so then you're definitely making progress - Ollie frequently had his naps in two bits when getting used to the 1 nap schedule and recovering from OT.

Speaking of whom - he woke screaming at 0:40 last night, did PD and went quiet  :( Cried again at 1am, did PD and he settled after that, woke at 6:15 for the day. Def OT behaviour but not sure if it's because of long days or cos of the crap day/night sleep on Sunday. He had 20 mins in the car at around midday today, asleep by 6:45. Hoping that will help  :-\

Katt- almost afraid to type this, but I put her in her crib and walked out tonight.  It's about 20 mins later, and I haven't heard much complaining.

Laura- thanks for the Millpond info.  I sent them an e-mail about our situation.  I extended the nap by WI/PD and a little head rub.  I waited til she went b2s to leave the room.  No nap today for O, besides the catnap in the car?

Nicola- I had been moving closer to the door (in fact I was AT the door), but yesterday as soon as I left, she went nuts.  But see my comment above to Katt- I hope I'm not jinxing myself.

This is counterintuitive, but last night she went to bed later (5:50pm) and though had 1 NW, she slept later this morning (5:50am).  I know I shouldn't increase A time with such OT, but the later wakeup would definitely help the nap length I think.  Too risky?

Nic- you're up late!  I meant that putting her to bed later made her wake up time later (with 1 NW).  Would putting her to bed later (more than 4.5 hours post nap) be too risky, e.g. more NWs?

Ladies, I hope you don't mind but as this thread is approaching 30pages, it will soon need to be locked as we have a 30page rule for ongoing threads :)

Leslie, if you are still having problems with your lo's nap, do you mind starting a new thread and I will try to help you out.

Can you please post on the new thread your routine, what time are the naps? Do you go by A times or by the clock? Do you rock the baby to sleep or do you interfere in any way with naps and/or bedtime and night wakings (basically are there any props involved)?

If you can try to cover as much of that and also give me an idea what her days have been like in the last 3 days or so, that would be great!!! :)

Layla

Yay! Layla to the rescue  ;D
We could do with some fresh ideas I think - though there have been some improvements in the last couple of days.

Re: later bedtime - the 4.5 hour rule is just what worked for us and for Katt & Leorah, it doesn't mean that that is what will work for you. Maybe M would do better with longer before bed. When she went to bed at 5:50, what time had she woken from nap?

We had a better night, only NW was cos of earthquake (!!)

Leslie if you think she did better on longer pm A time maybe try 5hrs instead of 4.5hrs, i think you'll soon know if it was a fluke or what she really needs.

Laura - we had an earthquake  :o ??? :o where, when????

That's great that you could leave the room Leslie, I would only intervene if she gets upset and the WIWO  ;)

Nicola where in the UK are you? I think the earth tremor was mainly felt in the midlands and up north but apparantly some felt it in Brighton  :o I experienced an earth tremor in Sumatra which I guess is quite common as it's on the equtor but I was so scared and excited all at the same time. I was chatting to smeone on another forum that thought a plane was landing on her house, that is scary!

I agree with the others about the A time Leslie because M always did seem to like a longer than average A time, just moniter closely but you are right it really helps to push the nap later if you get a later wake up. Are you going to start a new thread?
Katt
