Stomach upset and food
« on: April 15, 2008, 09:40:29 am »
My doc says that I should give L whatever she fancies but she has really bad diarreah and everything she likes is spicy, garlicky or fruit and yoghurt  :-\ She was very ill yesterday with a  fever etc but is much better today, not 100% but is not being sick and seems starving. She had french toast with honey this morning which is her favourite breakfast but we have had 2 loose (liquid, sorry TMI!) nappies since. She keeps asking for fruit, shall I just give it to her? I'm worried she'll have pain. She is definitely not one for plain rice and chicken!! She's drinking loads of water but wants milk too, she has low fat milk, do you think I can give her some? I hope someone sees this soon as she fell asleep while we were walking an hour earlier than her naptime and I know she will wake starving!

Could you get hold of some lactose free milk?  I know from plenty of experience milk does just make it worse, well the lactose does - my ds refuses food and only wants milk.  Would she eat bananas?  I think pears are quite binding too?  There isn't alot of lactose in a yoghurt as a last resort.

Good luck x

Thank you, you just reminded me we have rice milk from when she was intolerant of cows milk, perfect! She had half a banana this morning but then threw it away, I think she may have gone off them after projectile vomiting after a bite of one yeterday  :( We also have pears so I will offer her one. What she really wants are strawberries and pineapple! I will give her crackers and some yoghurt when she gets up, thanks   :-*
