Q re: wi/wo method & 14 month old
« on: August 23, 2008, 16:34:32 pm »
hi there - we recently finished getting 14 mo old down using PU/PD, where as before we would hold her until asleep.  we can put her in her crib awake, and we lay on the floor.  this is a big success for all of us because now she lays down on her own, but only if we are laying on the floor in her room until she falls asleep.  if we try to leave the room  before she is asleep, she will cry.   we are interested in using WI/WO - is this the right technique to use now to enable us to leave the room?  i don't want to do too many new things at once, but we are trapped in her room until she falls alseep and would like to transition to putting her down and leaving the room.  any advice is appreciated.  thanks!

yep at 14mo I would wiw/wo.
Alternatively you can just gradually move the position where u sit to nearer the door till u arre out of the door and then do wi/wo
